The main characters in this book, is Garion, or rather, BelGarion, BelGarath and Polgara.

The story starts off with Polgara, and Garion living on a farm, where a weird storyteller often frequents. One day,after being absent for over a year,  the storyteller comes back, and engages in a strange conversation with Polgara. On the same night, Brill, a new farmhand, was caught evesdropping on a extremely private conversation. Thus begins an exciting adventure, full of surprises and revelations, as Polgara, Belgarion and Belgarath engage in a quest. The game played out between the two propecies has lasted long enough. Its time the games end. Unknown to Garion, leaving the farm would not only bring in more danger, but through the quest, he would find out WHO  Polgara and Belgarath really is.
